There are already countless stores that offer self-service checkout, yet many still use the cashier system. Today, we learn why I prefer self-service checkouts over traditional staffed tills.
While this has nothing to do with people’s jobs, most of the old till staff jobs will get replaced in the long run.
More food retailers, including Walmart, Amazon, and others, will be able to offer self-checkout technology in the coming months and years at an affordable cost.
When it comes to shopping, the majority of customers today demand some form of self-service technology. Self-checkout enables customers to participate actively in the checkout process. It gives them the freedom to participate on their own terms and at their own pace, making their own judgments.
This also allows you to avoid the ‘you should have bought this’ bandwagon.
